Summary/Abstract: The constellation of composers who emerged between the two World Wars was a most significant phenomenon. On our meridian, as well as on other meridians of the world, this was an era that saw the emergence of a number of novelists, musicians, philosophers and scientists with a prolific creativity in the most diverse spheres of thought or art. They constituted themselves into a true wave of generations that set in motion a fervent inner dialogue, dynamic confrontations of ideas, replete with ardent polemics and unexpected syntheses. The personalities whose centenary we have been celebrating throughout the last decade take the lead in this dialogue and strongly assert the significance of the epoch.
