Summary/Abstract: Of interest for this text are two research questions. The first one is related to the analytical value of the Grand Strategy as a concept. The second one refers to the conceptual and methodological challenges that comparative grand strategy poses as a research project. In order to answer to the above, this text puts forward a typology for exploring grand strategy. This typology is made up of three dimensions, that is, vision, interests and threats, and implementation. Then, the typology, which is not an explanatory model, is put into practice for a comparative exploration of the grand strategies of the US, China and the EU. Of interest for this text is the strategic interaction among these great powers, with an emphasis on the subregional and infrastructural projects of the US, China, and the EU.
