Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the conceptual features of paremiological units in the works of Samad Vurgun. The main types of „concept‟ are described, the cognitive mechanisms of its formation and function are explained. The main category of cognitive linguistics is concept. Cognitive linguistics studies the meanings that people use in their thinking activities, that reflect their experiences and knowledge, and are stored in the mind in the form of special mental structures, which are called concepts. A concept is a mental unit in which information about events in the surrounding world is collected, organized, and stored. Culture is perceived through language. Concepts also embody the spirit of the people, as they are related to culture. Concepts are not only thought out, but also lived. The study of concepts is one of the most urgent problems of modern linguistics and has developed in various scientific directions. Studying the methods of conceptual organization of knowledge in the language is considered one of the main problems of that issue. It is for this reason that the collective consciousnessa acts as a protector of constants, i.e. permanent or long-standing concepts. In linguistic culture, the concept covers a fairly wide area. The components of the concept include all the lexical and grammatical meanings of the language units. The main feature of the concept is its mentality. Concepts, like values with every mental quality, are a product of the imagination. The proverbs that we find in the works of Samad Vurgun, written in the language of every nation, including the Azerbaijanis, reflect the national characteristics of the nation and are verbalized by reflecting various concepts.
