Summary/Abstract: The conventual autobiographical writings of the colonial American era are characterized as writings full of contrasts and ambivalences, as the society of those times has been. That era is characterized by the social pyramid that was not only in society, but also within the convents. That pyramid also focuses on the two main categories of people of those times: men and women. In the writings of autobiographical character, these female and male figures can be noticed, although the women had no rights. These figures play a fundamental role in order to be able to see the society differently, in order to be able to analyze it also from other points of view and in order to be able tounderstand it better.Precisely for this reason, we are going to dedicate this article to present how this ambivalence relationship was seen in the work of one of the defenders of the proto-feminine movement, a Chilean nun who could be characterized as one of the most controversial nuns of that time.
