Summary/Abstract: In a world in continuous transformation, perceiving the meanings and the direction towards which mankind is heading is a difficult task. There is the certainty of a great development of science, so fast that it often leaves the speed of lawmaking behind. This difference sometimes leads to paradoxical situations and conflicts which are difficult to be estimated and solved. The adaptation of ethical constructions and of the theoretical framework in general to the reality of science and to the dilemmas of the beginning of the millennium represents necessary but difficult themes. A relatively new science – emerged from this necessity – bioethics comes to offer answers to these questions, paradoxes and dilemmas. The present study proposes to present some of these situations and also some attempts to gather the concerns and efforts of scientists to create a theoretical framework for this vast issue.
