Summary/Abstract: The article presents the activities of the Union of Polish Youth (ZMP) at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska High School and the Faculty of Journalism at the University of Warsaw. The subject of analysis are Agnieszka Osiecka’s personal notes from the late 1940s and early 1950s. What emerges from the text is a picture of an organisation characterised by its male and female members’ stagnation and a lack of ideas of interest to high school and university students. Any attempts undertaken by Osiecka to improve the activities of ZMP failed. The attitude of the Union’s authorities, as well as the district committees of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers’ Party (PZPR), greatly impacted this situation.
