Summary/Abstract: Language teaching in the last decades takes into account L3, additional languages and multilingualism. Romanian is studied in Spain after several other languages that can be useful for its acquisition. Here we focus on French, in a twofold approach: a “positive” side takes into account its convergence with the Romanian language system as well as its influence both on Romanian and Spanish; a “negative” side is related to its sensitive proximities with Romanian and to the prevention of interferences. Several examples detail how French can serve to introduce Romanian phonology and phonetics, morphosyntax, vocabulary and phraseology.
