Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to identify motivation which has long been a major problem for most teachers of English as a Second Language (ESL) not only in Romania but also elsewhere. One of the successful ways is to use quotations appropriately. This paper presents some of the strategies and successes achieved at the Transylvania University by writing quotations at the beginning of every class and finding satisfaction that most students are immensely motivated to learn English as also to live their life meaningfully.
