Summary/Abstract: Images of edibles and kitchen crockery appear to hold a central role throughout the history of painting and modern art seems to make no exception from this. In the case of Cézanne, still-life paintings evidence the fundamentals of his artistic endeavor, documenting the artist’s efforts to come to terms with his interior pressure determined by his aesthetic choices and technical treatment of space and objects. His still-life paintings displaying the new assertion of form and textured colors represent testimonies of a congruent artistic approach.
