Summary/Abstract: Our article studies the Journal d’un écrivain en pyjama (2013) by Francophone author Dany Laferrière from the point of view of a poïetic approach that analyses creative work in the writer’s close relationship with the work being done. We also propose to examine the paradigm changes that have occurred in contemporary age in the reconfiguration of the status of the professional writer and in the actual literary work of the professional writer. The critical examination of scriptural practice offers a confession, a testimony, a reflection, a polemical and ironic debate on the art of writing as well as on the clichés of the profession of writer. Our analysis contemplates identifying the function of literary value in the ethical and aesthetic conduct of the professional writer and its importance in the vision on literature.
