Summary/Abstract: This review discussed the book by Michał Jacek Jarmuż (2020), entitled Housing Problems in Poland in the 1970s in the Light of Personal Documents [Problemy mieszkaniowe w Polsce w latach siedemdziesiątych XX wieku w świetle dokumentów osobistych] which was published in 2020 by the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. This publication is the result of the doctoral dissertation defended in 2014, written under the supervision of prof. Dariusz Jarosz at the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, who has specialized and researched for many years, inter alia, housing issues in 20th-century Poland, doing so both through the lens of classic archival files and personal documents (Jarosz, 1996; 2006; 2008; 2010; Miernik, 2006). This fact undoubtedly influenced the choice of research topics and the type of historical sources used in the work.
