Summary/Abstract: Having as legal basis art. 3 of the T.U.E and art. 10, 19, 45-48, 145-150 and 151-161 of the TFEU, the social policy of the European Union has as stated objectives: promoting employment, improving living and working conditions, adequate social protection, dialogue between management and the other members of the staff, the development of human resources in order to ensure a high rate of employment and to prevent social exclusion. In addition, the Luxembourg Court of Justice is making an important contribution to increasing the level of protection of employed or unemployed persons by repeating the established principles of European Union law, principles which are largely the result of its creative work of law.
