Summary/Abstract: Featuring dystopian elements, Juli Zeh’s novels Spieltrieb (2004), Corpus Delicti. Ein Prozess (2009) and Leere Herzen (2017) critically examine postmodern practices of political power. In particular, it is the (human) body, partially unavailable and therefore despised, at which practices of control and discipline are aimed. Following the logic of the “expulsion of the Other” (Han 2016), the physico-material thus becomes not only the target object, but also the antagonist of rational systems and totalitarian governmentality.
