Summary/Abstract: In our paper we intend to address the themes of G. Bacovia's poetry that can be subsumed under existential categories by excellence. The silence, identified in the void of non-existence, impresses by the semantic wealth of the poet's creations. Loneliness, its ontological burden, the absurdity of existence, the illness reflected on space and time and projected into a nameless pain, Kierkegaard's "sickness unto death", extend across Bacovia's lyrics and pass through time into the soul of the contemporary reader.
