Summary/Abstract: The idea of using an escape room in foreign language teaching fits perfectly with the needs of today’s learners, where we create a natural learning environment using digital tools. The escape room, whether physical or virtual, provides space for the use of different types of language tasks. The article first describes the escape room in the light of theoretical considerations. It then presents the results of a survey, conducted among 31 teachers of various foreign languages. The aim of the survey was to gather feedback from the teachers who themselves use escape rooms in their language classes. The questions concerned the use of escape rooms in foreign language lessons, the tools for designing them, the sources for obtaining scenarios, the advantages and disadvantages and the reference of escape rooms to the flipped classroom. In the light of the results obtained, the escape room seems to be an attractive and motivating tool for students, which can be successfully used in foreign language lessons at any educational level.
