Summary/Abstract: Beyond the controversies or the growing interest in the Romanian literature of the exile, but also the attraction for the reading of the works that are part of it, it should be mentioned that only certain names of authors have been successfully imposed by literary value and resonance. Among them, one who deserved the interest of many researches and analyzes was Constantin Virgil Gheorgiu, an important writer of the Romanian exile in the tumultuous 20th century; in his work, he used a variety of literary styles and registers. The echo that Gheorghiu’s Memorii/Memoirs give us is borne by dogmatic breath, a poetic essence as subtle as so impregnated by the deep faith that the poet lives in a physical fabric with the people from whom he originates, thought to transcend the human being according to the divine Archetype. The craftsmanship with which the writer commemorates and assumes, in the sense of authentic experience, the religious values, once again demonstrates his profound theological value, indisputably based on a resulting experience not from an ephemerous philosophical speculation emanating from a hardened dogmatism, but from a perpetual search for a single theological vision built on the foundation of absolute faith in God. In this paper, the analytical route is based on the interpretation of the most important dimensions under whose constellation Constantin Virgil Gheorghiu wrote his Memorii/Memoirs. Thus, our investigative and interpretive preoccupations followed the poetic thread that underpinned its physical and artistic fabric. The approach of the Gheorghian religious experience leads us unquestionably towards poetry, because this dimension of Constantin Virgil Gheorghiu’s culture and writing illustrates the most faithful steps of an important and defining stage in the shaping of his literary profile, while setting forth the subsequent orientations with important reflections on shaping his literary vision.
