Summary/Abstract: One of the basic concerns of the Scientific Library of ,,Alecu Russo”Bălţi State University is preserving and conservation of collections. It is the process that allows to ensure the transmission of the patrimony held by the Library of future generations of users in good conditions. The article reflected the duties and the role of the librarian, in the preservation of the library collections, which influence both their physical and informational support.
