Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the paper is to trace the tendencies in Bulgarian women’s prose after 1989. The shifts in the dominating themes and aesthetics by means of which authors renew the ways women think and present themselves in literature will constitute an important focus. The novels Handbook for Self-made Murders by Maria Stankova and Lilith by Diana Petrova will serve as objects of analysis.
