Summary/Abstract: Starting from the 2nd century B.C. until the roman conquest of the territory of Dacia, there is a change in the funerary practices exhibited in this territory from the situation encountered between 5th-3rd century B.C. There is only a small number of known funerary discoveries from this period, both inhumation and cremation graves, their number being very small compared to the previous time frame. Most of the burials are inhumation graves deposited in pits either inside or outside the settlements. There are several types of contexts which show differences related to the number of individuals, the position of the skeletons, the inventory, and the state of representation of the individuals. This article presents an anthropological analysis of five sub-adult skeletons discovered in pits in the Getic settlement at Grădiștea-Movila Crestată. The skeletons are differentiated by their state of representation, funerary inventory, and position, one of them showcasing perimortem injuries which have caused his death. The anthropological analysis presented here is meant to extract as much information as possible from the skeletons and see whether they show certain signs that can contextualize the funerary treatment expressed through these burials.
