Summary/Abstract: The activity of the Teresa Ossolińska née Stadnicka can be treated as an interesting example of the activities taken by women in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the second half of the 18th century. Her actions, such as heeding her political and founding activities, the strategy of managing huge assets, as well as thought-out matrimonial patronage, deserve more detailed investigation, Ossolińska was generally commited to the sphere of religious patronage, actively participating in a number of undertakings serving to commemorate her as a well-deserved founder and a generous supporter. Thanks to the creation of own cliental circle, she infl uenced the process of fi lling offi ces, giving priority to searching for the most lucrative vacancies for her husband and sons. She also willingly engaged in political affairs, wanting to lay the foundations for a strong political center, that could be a base for the closest family members. The preserved correspondence is an interesting source material (that has not been analyzed so far), enabling the study of studies on women’s activity in the second half of the 18th century.
