Summary/Abstract: The paper is aimed at presenting a model of transition from quality management systems to knowledge management systems in software developing organizations. The methodology focuses on presenting components of the model of transition from quality management systems to knowledge management systems. The paper defines the model of transition from the quality management systems conformable with series 9000 ISO international standards supplemented with ISO/IEC 90003:2004 to knowledge management systems. The model consists of four processes and five elements treated as the results of the process implementation. The paper demonstrates how quality system elements can be useful in the implementation of knowledge management system processes, such as localisation and the acquisition of knowledge.
