Summary/Abstract: "Behold what I have done, what I have thought, what I have been", says Rousseau in the opening page of the book about his life. An autobiographical work, The Confessions show the way in which the author unloads his life stories, confessing "the good and the bad, with the same candor". This approach, which can be found in modern thinkers as well, represents a way of philosophical reflection, the diary, which makes room for the imagination because it presents its own vision of the lived experiences. The Trumpet of Justice blows when it wants to and announces from an evaluative point of view: "I was better than that person".
