Summary/Abstract: Through this article Identity and alterity in the poetry of Marta Petreu I tried to find the features of Marta's postmodern writings. For this we chose the most attractive volume of poetry Bring the verbs and and I have submitted the texts to a semantic analysis. Today the issue of the identity crisis is often debated based on communication between people. We specifically discussed two postmodern concepts: alterity vs. identity and the relationship between them. I have emphasized the way the lyrical ego manages to make himself and the reader identify with the others. The poetry of Marta Petreu is a confessional poetry through which the self-retrieval is sought.
