Summary/Abstract: The article examines the involvement of Estonian architects in the international architecture scene in the 1920s-1930s, with an emphasis on contacts with the IFHTP. The IFHTP – International Federation for Housing and Planning – was the most geographically extensive, the largest in terms of membership and the most active international organisation dealing with urban planning and housing in the 1920s and 1930s. The focus is on the participation of Estonian architects and city officials in IFHTP congresses and exhibitions. The article studies the influence of foreign contacts on architectural ideology, planning and design in Estonia in the 1920s and 1930s.
