Summary/Abstract: Budgeting should be done in construction because it is a critical aspect of project management. It involves estimating the cost of resources required for a construction project and determining the financial feasibility of the project. Budgeting is the process of estimating the cost of a construction project and determining the financial viability of the project. This process enables construction companies to complete the project within the set budget and avoid financial difficulties (Ballard, 2012). Also, budgeting compares the actual cost of the project with the estimated cost, helping them track areas where costs are exceeding budget and take corrective action to put the project on track. In addition, budgeting in construction is necessary to improve project planning, cost control, decision making and stakeholder communication.
