Summary/Abstract: The EU policies in respect of education follow a series of priorities. Their goal is to preserve the national identity and specifics of education in each Member State. At the same time they pave the way to a successful move towards a Europe united and based on knowledge and lifelong learning. The challenges which our modern society of knowledge and technology faces must be regulated in the strategic framework for European cooperation in education and training. The main objective of these policies is to support Member States in their efforts to develop and synchronize education and training systems for the recognition of knowledge, skills and competencies to make it easier for everyone to study and work anywhere in Europe. What role education plays in these reformative educational policies to be implemented in our conditions remains an open and so far insufficiently explored question.
