Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to analyse one of the most well- known novels of Gabriela Adameșteanu, Wasted Morning, from two points of view proposed by the critics, but they are also identifiable by the reader from the first reading. The first one tries to demonstrate that the novel is a historical novel as long as we have some clear references to the communist era in Romania and to the lifes of the romanians in that period. The second point of view is based on the complicated relationships between family members and even between different families, that are also described in the novel. These two perspectives made the novel be recepted as a historical novel, but also a family one.
