Summary/Abstract: This article aims to illustrate the way in which a physician describes his experiences as a prisoner in the Auschwitz and Dachau camps. It is about the psychiatrist Viktor Frankl, who in his book "Man’s Search for Meaning" presents the events from two perspectives: a scientific and a humanistic one. It is remarkable to notice the way in which the physician and at the same time the writer, by using simple medical terminology, succeeds in sensitizing so much the reader without abusing his empathy, but succeeding in imparting an optimistic note to his experiences in the camp. Therefore, this paper seeks to highlight the medical terminology used in describing the main conditions that prisoners had to endure from the physical point of view.
