Summary/Abstract: The economic effects of the implementation of the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP) towards east European countries are assessed as moderate so far. The author of the paper attempts to identify the changes that have occurred in the economic relations of the European Union with Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine in the period of economic crisis. The analysis of statistical data from the period of 2008−2011 shows that the crisis phenomena have not caused significant changes in the trade relations of the partners. Changes in the trade value of east Europe countries with the European Union were similar to those observed in the general trade of these countries. The decrease of the European Union as an export destination for east Europe countries had short-term nature and was determined mainly by the merchandise structure of the exports. Positive changes can be expected only after the completion of the main economic objective of the ENP, that is signing and implementation of association agreements with the countries of Eastern Europe.
