Summary/Abstract: The topic of research is the literary opus of Patriarch Danilo Banjski, who is also referred to in sources as Danilo III or Danilo Junior. This was a talented writer and head of the Serbian Orthodox Church from the second half of the 14th century, whose literary work has so far not been comprehensively studied. His presence in the Serbian medieval literature is tied to the cult of St. Simeon (Prološko žitije Svetog Simeona), St. Sava (Prološko žitije Svetog Save), St. King Milutin (Služba Svetom kralju Milutinu, Prološko žitije Svetog kralja Milutina) and St. Prince Lazar (Slovo o Svetom knezu Lazaru). The paper presents the research procedures in the study of Danilo’s opus and the ways of organizing research results with reference to paleographic, orthographic, linguostylistic and textological features of the analyzed essays. Special attention is devoted to the lit¬erary-artistic aspect along with a presentation of genre regularities and stylistic inter-twinements. A comprehensive view of the texts has allowed for the analysis of literary-artistic values in the context of medieval poetics.
