Charity in the Sphere of Guardianship in Education (Late of XIX – Early Twentieth Century)

Summary/Abstract: Different directions in charity work in public education in the late XIX – early XX century have been discovered and analyzed. We have tackled the problematic aspects of: the value of charitable organizations for financing educational institutions, the social protection of children, teachers and other employees, the creation of conditions for the organization of the first pre-professional training of orphans and children deprived of parental care, the establishment of awards and scholarships for poor and talented students.
