Summary/Abstract: Olfaction is one of the human senses which allows people to identify the surrounding reality, reacting to negative or positive smells and remaining indifferent to neutral ones. Their perception and reception are conditioned by individual conditions and experiences. The description of the odor measure and its intensity – due to the lack of an objective comparative value – is mostly based on stylistically marked and colloquial vocabulary. It applies to both pleasant and unpleasant sensory experiences in the olfactory area. The number of scent terms increases with its intensity. The sense of smell is also conceptualized by proverbs (about one hundred items), including those based on comparisons and ripe ones.
