Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the relatively unknown in Bulgaria travelogue of the American poet and painter E. E. Cummings – his “Russian diary”, EIMI. The stylistic and generic idiosyncrasies of the book are analyzed against the specific context of E.E.Cummings’ travel to the USSR. The focus is on the glimpses and impressions of Bulgaria as jotted by Cummings in his diary, while crossing the country aboard the Simplon-Orient Express in 1931. A translation of the “Bulgarian page” from the text is provided.
