Summary/Abstract: Within this short paper we aimed to bring to the attention of the public three main ideas, too often ignored in literature, and we hope we have managed, as a consequence, to ring an alarm about how little the international crimes are researched in Romania. Even though our history is riddled with tragic examples; even though we share borders with countries with a similarly tragic history (basically, the entirety of Eastern Europe); even though we are contemporary with some events which reaffirm unequivocally the actuality of the subject (the wars in Syria and Ucraine, the policies of the Islamic State, the political and ethnical persecutions carried out in China etc.). We will begin our study with a few remarks concerning the methodology, which are necessary in order to better frame this paper. We will continue by introducing a brief overview of the evolution of the criminological research related to international crimes, critically indicating why some of the more popular opinions from the XXth and XXIst centuries are now obsolete and should be discarded. We will continue by arguing for an interdisciplinary approach, identyfing in the process certain considerations which have been neglected in the literature up to this moment, although they make refferences to and are relevant for events occurring a century before.
