Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the contribution of prof. Jovan Đorđević to the contemporary theory and concepts of human freedom, rights and responsabilities, particularly in the conditions of the development of socialist self-management. The relation between man and self-management is the key subject of all of prof. Đorđevič’s scientific discourses and research. They encircle the contribution to the questions of the position of man in contemporary political systems, whose bureaucratization and alienation from the influence of society also mean the neglect of the question of freedoms,1 rights and responsabilities in the political theory and practice. The particularity of the approach to the question of freedoms, rights and responsabilities in the opus of prof. Đorđević is in the fact that he preliminarly researches and evaluates the fate and epochal significance of great concepts and ideas of human liberty and democracy, as well as the condition of basic forces and values of civilization that define the field of freedom and right today (socialism, solidarity, communication, equality etc, as well as man himself, his social position in the world today). Defining the status of the great heritages and values, prof. Đorđević states that the classic and traditional concepts of man and his freedoms, rights and responsabilities are surpassed and that it is necessary to ( introduce radical new concepts in this field, to be able to bring them into the area of deep political changes in the world today, and particularly in accordance with the appearance and imperative of the future development of self-management and socialist democracy. In his book Socialism and Freedom prof. Đorđević gives in regard with the transformation of statistic into self-management structure of society and particularly in regard with the key right of man, such as the right to self management and the right to work by social means.
