Summary/Abstract: This paper provides an overview of the changes taking place in the organization of community mental care in Poland. Psychiatric care is now undergoing a significant shift towards community mental health services. Community psychiatry covers a specific area and is available to any local person who experiences a mental health crisis. It highlights the moral message of community mental care, which recognizes the subjectivity of each patient receiving psychiatric treatment, and the treatment itself is expanded to include community support at the place where the mentally ill person resides. In Poland, the community mental care model is introduced through changes deployed during the pilot stage of Mental Health Centers starting from 2018, now extended to 2027. Materials and Methods: Review of literature, attending conferences. Results: The changes introduced with the psychiatric care reform in Poland can be reflected on based on the information collected and the hands-on observations. Conclusions: Provided below.
