MULTICULTURALISM OF POLISH SOCIETY – EDUCATIONAL AND RESEARCH CHALLENGES

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the multiculturalism of Polish society, taking into account the historical background and the existing national and ethnic minorities. Analyzing the diversity and complexity of the concept resulting from the coexistence of different cultures and religions, the author analyzes the educational and research challenges. Material and methods: The article uses a literature review in accordance with the following criteria (questions): a) what discipline does the discussed issue belong to? b) how to specify the topic? What aspects to focus on? c) what is already known about the selected topic? d) who raised a similar issue? e) which of the discussed threads are worth expanding in relation to social sciences. Results: As a result of the analysis of the literature, the issue of multiculturalism over the years was described and the characteristics of the existing national and ethnic minorities were presented. Conclusions: The existing multiculturalism requires facing new educational and research challenges.
