Summary/Abstract: The text outlines several key points in the counselling and psychotherapeutic work with adolescents and their parents. In the first part, the focus is on the clinical signs that would help the counsellor understand whether the adolescent behaviour is a collection of „crazy moments“ caused by the difficulties of the period, whether it is an adolescent crisis – a process accompanying normal adolescence, or is the beginning of a psychotic episode. A section of this part is dedicated on the relationship between psychotic states and the use of psychoactive substances. The „masked“ depressive states are introduced, which often remain unrecognized or interpreted only educationally, without taking into account the mental movements and risks that these states hide. Also examined are some theoretical views explaining aspects of adolescent homosexuality and transsexuality, as well as the place of the neurotic form of transsexuality in the contemporary adolescents. In the second part, the emphasis is on maintaining the dialogue with the parents, listening and accompanying them, which often raises questions from their own adolescence and requires tactful interventions in the direction of individual psychotherapeutic work.
