Summary/Abstract: This study is a theoretical analysis of public health indicators in Romanian community psychiatry. It aims to highlight the current needs and the role of social workers for highly vulnerable groups. The research method consists of a theoretical analysis of psychiatric health indicators in Romania, over two decades, compared to the European situation. The results conclude the necessity for a unitary European policy in psychiatry. They also show an increased need for social support. The role of social workers is essential in reducing psychiatric disability and favoring social inclusion.
