Summary/Abstract: The context of the article is the alarming results of empirical scientific research regardingthe risk of exceeding the so-called planetary boundaries. For two decades, these havebeen highlighted in the interdisciplinary discussion on the Anthropocene. In light of this, the author asks about the role of the university and the axiological mission of experts.Based on selected postulates from the field of so-called critical university studies, the textindicates ways of “tactically using the university space.” Alongside signaling the disaster, these include: (1) nurturing a community of dissent on the ruins of the academia; (2)assuming the role of a sector criticizing capitalism in the Capitalocene and that of thelaboratory of alternatives; 3) simultaneously combating climate fatalism and confrontinghumanity with the problem of extinction; as well as 4) locating catalysts of change onthe path of humanity toward green orders.
