Sources of Motivation that Education Managers Should Have

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to contribute to the literature on the subject by examining the sources of motivation that education managers should have. Motivation is defined as the process by which energy is gained and directed to behavior. The concept of motivation is a very difficult concept from the point of view of psychology. One of the reasons for this is that it cannot be directly observed. The observation of human behavior is a theoretical process that can be put forward by observing the change in their performance or by asking them to define their goals and needs. The needs, desires and desires that exist within the individual enable him to be motivated from within. These forces influence him by determining his thoughts, which will guide his behavior in certain situations. From the point of view of managers working in educational institutions, it is very important to activate the sources of motivation for employees. Education managers have to listen to them, tell feelings and facts. In order to be most effective in terms of mutual exchange, it should emphasize listening. If, as is the tendency of many managers, he begins to tell his subordinate his own views, he will suppress upward communication due to his status and hidden power. This, in turn, prevents effective communication, which then begins to determine the tendency to decrease in the motivation of employees in the subsequent process. For this reason, education managers who successfully apply effective communication methods and techniques create an orderly and healthy corporate structure by dynamically activating the sources of motivation in their institutions.
