Summary/Abstract: The text highlights the essence, stages and dimensions of secularization, as well as the Church’s response to the phenomenon of secularization: liturgical and personal prayer. The most concentrated form of this answer is given to us in the Lord’s prayer. The qualities of prayer or how prayer must be to be accepted by God are then presented with biblical and patristic grounds: to be performed in truth and with faith; to be persistent; to be made in peace; to be inclusive, meaning not to exclude anyone, not even enemies. Next, the problem of the difficulty of praying today, its multiple causes and possible solutions are addressed. In the end, the ways of approaching unceasing prayer are indicated. The conclusion is hopeful: in today’s secularized world, there are still people completely dedicated to prayer, who hold the world with their prayers.
