Summary/Abstract: The transportation policy, which the Ottoman Empire brought to the agenda in the last period, also for me done of the modernization efforts of the New Turkish State. In the first years of the Republic, importance was given to urban transportation activities by the state, and paralel tothis, theconstruction of railway routes that were connected with each other was apriority.
