Summary/Abstract: In contact with other culture, a travelogue writer responds to it intellectually and emotionally, therefore, his experience of culture and unseen spaces has a very important role in understanding the Other. Imagining by words, the travelogue writer finds out these aspects of reality of Other which are out of factualistic/scientic description. The goal of this paper is to show poetic, stylistic and rhetoric means which travelogue writers of Bosna and Herzegovina use in their description of cultures in travelogues, as well as linguistic means to show their view toward different cultural reality and tradition. Also, this paper aims to show linguistic methods they use for comparation between their own culture (homeland) and the culture of Other. The emphasis of the paper is on analysis of poetic descriptions, that is on figure description, having in mind that the term description in this paper substitutes the rethoric term hypotipose in methalinguistic usage.
