Summary/Abstract: This article presents the assumptions of bloodstain pattern analysis as forensic science. Thanks to its application, it is possible to carry out better DNA genetic research, aiming to reconstruct the event. The article is based on literature research, the study of criminal case files and the author's personal experience as an expert witness. The paper aims to create a scientific discussion about the proper documentation and prioritisation of blood traces for genetic testing.
