Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the linguistic aspects of the “false and true friend” in learning Italian. Its aim is to point out a new method in teaching Italian to students whose native language is BHS. Discovering homophones and homographs with a different meanings can help students whose native language is BHS to absorb a foreign language, in this case Italian. Learning through “false and true friends” opens up new possibilities for detecting “real friends” which can help in acquiring Italian.
