Summary/Abstract: The subject of the analysis is the monumental oil painting Stanisław Żołkiewski presents the captured Szujski tsars to Sigismund III and Prince Władysław at the Sejm in 1611 from the collection of the Lviv Historical Museum. Until now, it was considered a copy of Tomasz Dolabella’s painting from the second anti-camera of the Royal Castle in Warsaw. The author proves that it is a copy of another ceiling painting, probably from one of the magnate mansions, which did not exactly repeat the alleged original by Dolabella. King Sigismund III was shown here together with senators as primus inter pares. The client can be seen as one of the portrayed senators.
