Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to discuss the names of meat dishes in the speech of Poles in the south-eastern borderlands. The subject of my research is the nomenclature and generational characteris-tics of the names of local dishes prepared and eaten as festive meals – meat dishes prepared on Sundays, holidays or during pig slaughter. My analyses revolve around the dynamics of change in the functioning of food names.
