Summary/Abstract: Research done by Leon Petražicki — the classic of Polish legal science — which covered large fields of law including not only the official law but other kinds of positive law, such as the intuitive one, had the aim of founding scientific policy of law. That research is of a complex character, so that Petražicki is considered a predecessor of the multi-dimensional and integrationist study of law. The author of this article emphasizes that empirical research too (conceived more widely), viewed through empirical-psychological theory of law, proved to be rather fruitful for the science of policy of law as one of the main tools of the legislator and of any other creator of law. On the ground of the above reasons the author concludes that the entire work of Leon Petražicki is significant also today, so that there is a need to further elaborate his conceptions.
