Summary/Abstract: The changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic are considered potentially traumatogenic in the scientific community today. There is a possibility that the coronavirus will enter the tissue of collective memory as cultural trauma. However, in order for this to happen, trauma carriers, such as artists, publicists or public figures, must give the events meaning through narratives and commemorate them. The idea behind this article is to verify how the authors of fan fiction describe COVID-19-related events and whether there are reasons to perceive them as cultural trauma carriers. For this purpose, the authors’ notes at the beginning and the end of the stories were examined using content analysis methods. The results present the percentage distribution of the occurring threads, their description and signals of the authors’ actions as trauma carriers, e.g. by emphasizing the unusual specifics of pandemic times, searching for the culprit, or reflecting on the impact of fan fiction on the mental health of both authors and readers.
